Tiche Synergia presents Jane Harman: Meraki

We are so excited to announce the launch of the brand new project Tiche Synergia in collaboration with the fashion brand Tiche. This multi-faceted project highlights all of our favorite things: collaboration, contemporary craftsmanship, design and photography in Florence. The spacious new Tiche atelier in via San Zanobi will host a series of Florence-based artisans and designers, who will present site-specific installations using the materials and objects of their craft, alongside a special selection of works and products in conversation with the recent collections and mission of Tiche. In addition, between each artisan exhibition, Tiche will host the works of a photographer who will present a selection of images that have a relationship with the aims of Tiche Synergia, either by interpreting the installation of the previous artisan or with a recent body of work.
What we love about this project is that it invites the artisans and photographers to reframe the objects of their craft as works of art, looking beyond their value as commercial products, offering a space for experimentation, research and innovation.
The Greek goddess of luck and chance, Tiche is also the protectress of cities and fortune, which perhaps holds a new resonance in the changing and often-unpredictable landscape of our current times. Emphasizing the opportunity for growth, experimentation and renewal, the project’s title, Tiche Synergia in fact reflects the heart of our aims at CPiF: to spark new ideas and connections between the artisans and designers of the city, and to envision the future of the city as one of innovation and collaboration. It’s time to give shape to a new, contemporary and thriving Florence.
On July 9th for the first edition of Tiche Synergia, master woodworker and furniture restorer Jane Harman will present Meraki, an installation of wooden objects and design pieces, which will be shown alongside a new jewelry collection inspired by the style lines of Tiche. The Greek word meraki, which describes the act of doing something with love, or putting oneself fully into one’s work, perfectly summarizes the practice of Jane Harman, who for more than 20 years has honed her craft in her busy bottega in San Frediano.

Tiche e Creative People in Florence sono lieti di invitarvi al lancio di Tiche Synergia, un nuovo progetto poliedrico a sostegno dell’artigianato, design, e fotografia a Firenze. Il nuovo arioso atelier del brand Tiche, ospiterà una serie di artigiani fiorentini che presenteranno installazioni site-specific, utilizzando i materiali del proprio mestiere. Ogni installazione sarà accompagnata da una selezione di prodotti in vendita, scelta apposta per creare un dialogo con la linea Tiche. In aggiunta a ciò, il brand ospiterà delle mostre fotografiche in cui il fotografo presenterà una serie di immagini ispirate alle installazioni degli artigiani, ma anche immagini recenti, in sintonia con la visione di Tiche Synergia.
Tiche Synergia invita gli artigiani e i fotografi a ri-immaginare gli oggetti del mestiere come opere d’arte oltre al loro valore commerciale, offrendo loro uno spazio per la sperimentazione, la ricerca e l’innovazione.
La dea greca della Fortuna, Tiche, è anche protettrice delle città, e questo risuona in modo nuovo, soprattutto in questo periodo di cambiamento e incertezza. Enfatizzando questa opportunità di crescita, ma anche di sperimentazione e rinnovamento, il titolo del progetto Tiche Synergia rivela i suoi obiettivi principali: creare la scintilla per far nascere nuove idee e nuovi rapporti fra gli artigiani e i designer della città, e immaginare la Firenze del futuro come un luogo di innovazione e collaborazione.
Per la prima edizione di Tiche Synergia, il 9 Luglio, la restauratrice di mobili, nonché falegname Jane Harman, presenterà Meraki un’installazione di oggetti e pezzi di design, accompagnata dalla nuova collezione di gioielleria in legno ispirata alle linea Tiche. La parola greca meraki, (che significa l’atto di fare qualcosa con amore, o buttarsi pienamente nel proprio lavoro), descrive perfettamente il lavoro di Jane Harman, che da più di vent’anni ha perfezionato il suo mestiere, nella sua bottega di San Frediano.
