For this series of Spotlight Interviews we’ll be checking in with the artisans and designers who will be taking part in our Merry & Bright pop-up shop at Palazzo San Niccolò on December 9-10!
We spoke with La Serra MK Textile Atelier co-director Margherita Pandolfini to learn more about their unique hand-painted designs–and to find out what’s on her holiday wish list!
Three adjectives (or more!) to describe your brand:
One-of-a-kind, bespoke, made in Italy, quality, colourful, artisanal
What makes Florence the right place for your brand?
The inspiring history of craftsmanship and amazing art, as well as the high quality of materials and the appeal of a Made in Italy brand.
At CPiF we celebrate collaboration between creatives. Are you working on any collaborative projects at the moment, or are you looking for people to work with in the future?
We are always open to new collaborations and ideas. We recently collaborated with Erin Ciulla from Legatoria il Torchio on a series of hand-painted papers for a new range of books. We will also be collaborating with a local fashion designer to create a new collection of patterns.
Who are your favorite local designers and/or artisans that everyone should know about?
There is so much talent in Florence, just a few of my faves: artist Anna Rose (thanks for the shout-out!), sculptor James Bateman, hat designer Ely B, Erin from Legatoria il Torchio, jewelry designer Tinka Loncar.
Any holiday gift you’re particularly pining after this year?
…. a new hand bag but not sure from where yet ! 🙂
