Collaborations: Art, jewelry, fashion, photography

When Creative People in Florence was born, the idea behind  the group was to organize collaborations and find other artists and creative people to work with as a way to improve our work and expand our portfolios. When you are able to find the right group of people, it has the ability to open doors you never knew existed and it can help you think in ways you never would have imagined.

The results of our most recent collaboration far surpassed my wildest dreams! Coming into it, I had an idea of what I wanted to do. Mood boards were created, meetings were held and plans were made. What happened next was more than I could have ever hoped for. Each person in the group brought their own ideas and  creativity and most importantly, everyone was open to the ideas of each other. Serendipity is probably the best word I could use to describe it.

Florien Becking, a recent Fashion design graduate from Polimoda, was a last minute addition to the group, and was a perfect fit for the project. We couldn’t be happier that she decided to join us.

I met Nikita de Kleijn at a Creative People in Florence studio visit, and I knew the moment I saw her that she would make the perfect model for this project so I took the opportunity and approached her immediately about the idea. She was enthusiastic and excited. Not only is Nikita  a joy to work with but she is also one of the kindest people I’ve ever met.

The photographer, Dorin Vasilescu and I had worked together on a previous project and he also collaborated with my good friend Jiseo Kim on her latest ad campaign. Dorin is always ready to get involved and is always open to new experiences and ideas. Dorin is not only incredibly talented but also so great to work with.

We also have a great behind the scenes video that was shot by my lovely intern Naiwen Zhang. We are still working on the edits but we will be ready very soon!

And last but, certainly not least,  my partner in crime, the amazing Anna M. Rose. Brilliant. That is really the best way to describe her. She amazes me and inspires me all the time. Not only do I love her work as a conceptual artist, but her positive can-do attitude is contagious. It was the addition of all of her fabulous hair that made this shoot what it is.

This project really does show the power of working together and how much we can accomplish when we are open and work with a positive attitude with everyone’s success as the main goal.

I know that many of you have seen the photos posted to the facebook page already but I hope that you will see them a bit differently now knowing how we accomplished this beautiful photo shoot!

My sincerest ‘THANK YOU!’ to everyone involved! You all amaze me! You truly rock!!
