Spotlight: Birgitte Brondsted

Today I would like to introduce you to Creative People in Florence facebook group co-founder Birgitte Brondsted. I first met Birgitte a few years ago when I was looking to form an collaborative artists group. Birgitte was one of the first to respond and we quickly began working together. A few months later she came up with the brilliant idea to begin a facebook group for creative people of all kinds who live and work in Florence. As so was the beginning of what has now become a blog and member directory of over 100 people! It is collaborations like this that our group is based on and how we continue to grow our community! So here is a big THANK YOU to Birgitte for her contribution and the enthusiasm that she has brought to this project! And with that, I would like to share her extraordinary talent with you.

Birgitte is a Danish blogger, photographer and translator. She was born and grew up in Copenhagen, but moved to Italy to learn the language as soon as she finished high school. She has lived in Paris, Madrid, Florence and Rome for a total of 14 years. She holds an MA in Italian from Copenhagen Business School and has been working at the Danish Embassy in Rome for 7 years handling press and cultural affairs. Right now she is based in Florence, where she lives with her daughter and works freelance as a portrait photographer and translator.

Birgitte started her blog A DUSTY OLIVE GREEN in 2012. Here she shares her photography and her tips to local places in her three favorite cities: Rome, Florence and Copenhagen.

Birgitte also does beautiful family and children’s portrait photography as well as portrait sessions for artists. Last year she also conducted a photo interview series in conjunction with Creative People in Florence. You can see the entire series here.

This little alum is an example of the diversity of Birgitte’s work, you can see more by visiting her blog and her website.
