Woven Frequencies / 21-23 February
Intreccio Creativo, a group of international artists, has come together to honor Antonio Meucci, the pioneering inventor of the telephone, with a vibrant new exhibition. Held on Via Serragli, Meucci’s birthplace, the event explores the life, work, and enduring legacy of the visionary Florentine.
The exhibition, titled “Woven Frequencies – convesazioni con il Signor Meucci”, showcases a dynamic range of works, including prints, sculptures, and textile installations. Each piece reflects Meucci’s ingenuity and his lifelong pursuit of connection and communication.
Curator Kirstie Mathieson explains, “Antonio Meucci’s story is not just about inventing the telephone; it’s about the relentless pursuit of ideas that bridge distances, the movement of people searching for a better life and the determination to be recognised for ones achievements. The artists have captured this beautifully, linking his legacy to contemporary themes.”
Participating artists hail from diverse countries and all work using different materials, bringing unique perspectives to Meucci’s legacy.
The exhibition opens on Friday 21st February from 6pm until 8pm and remains open Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 February from 11am – 6pm. Via dei Serragli 58r.
