Creative People in Florence is a Cultural Association made up of a vibrant international community of artists, designers, artisans, and creative thinkers. The group was founded to foster collaboration, promote our members’ projects, and activate the contemporary arts in Florence.
As working artists, the CPiF team members – Sara Amrhein, Anna Rose and Kirstie Mathieson – understand the importance of belonging to a creative community where we can share our ideas and strengthen our own practices as well as those of others. Creative People in Florence hosts a variety of events such as studio visits with artists, group shows, and networking opportunities to connect our members.
The strength of CPiF lies in the diversity of its members: from artists and designers to writers, performing artists, and traditional artisans, we come not only from Florence but from all over the world, thriving on the powerful potential of collaboration across different backgrounds and talents. Members bring their unique interests, skills, and perspectives to each project, resulting in meaningful, professional, and often unexpected results.
CPiF situates itself in Contemporary Florence, deeply enriched by its history, while focused on the dynamic present and future of the city. We are very excited about our continuing growth and are looking forward to the future. Thank you for your support!
Creative People in Florence was co-founded by American artists Sara Amrhein and Anna Rose who, after living in Florence for many years, recognized the need for a contemporary artist’s community. In 2023, Scottish potter Kirstie Mathieson joined the team. Sara, Anna and Kirstie are currently practicing, professional artists. Anna Rose works with photography, video, and costume. For more on her work, visit www.annamrose.com. Sara Amrhein is a jewelry artist specializing in sculptural polymer clay jewelry and objects. You can see her work at www.sara-amrhein.com. Kirstie Mathieson specializes in stoneware objects for the home, but is always looking towards contemporary ceramics for inspiration. Follow her work at @kirstielovesart on Instagram.
