Join us in celebrating the vibrant workshops, art studios, galleries, and specialty shops along Via dei Serragli. Participate free of charge in hands-on open workshops or observe live demonstrations showcasing the creation of jewelry, ceramics, leather handbags, and more. Gain insights into identifying authentic leather goods or how actors prepare for stage performances. Savor local wine and cheese as you wander through each space, connecting with the talented local artisans eager to share their craft and knowledge with you.
This event will be held on Via dei Serragli, between Via Sant’Agostino and Via del Campuccio from 5 – 10 pm on September 5th. No reservations are required, so feel free to pop in throughout the evening.

Sayuri GLASS ART – 25R – Sayuri creates glass art and jewelry through various techniques such as mosaic, Tiffany, micromosaic, incision, and cold painting. Every piece is handcrafted and one of a kind. Step inside her transparent world for a further look into her process.
CLOCHARD 9.2 – 31R – Vintage by night. A huge selection of vintage clothes is handpicked one by one all around the world.
HANDMADE – 34R – A collection of handcrafted jewelry by four different designers
ATELIER 38 ROSSO – 38R -In the shared studio space and storefront of Materico Florence and AyaDesignLab, Elisa and Ayako of Atelier 38 Rosso create handcrafted jewelry in bronze and handbags and accessories in various textiles. Each piece is handcrafted making them one of a kind. When you visit on September 5th you will receive a special coupon for 10% off valid through December 25th, 2024.
SALUMERIA FORMAGGIO SANDRO E IVANA – 39R – Known as The King Of Cheese, a historic shop in the Oltranro that was once a traditional deli has recently been transformed by the owners Sandro and Ivana who are proud to offer a vast selection of cheese, oils, and typical Tuscan products.
GIULIADREAMBOX – 41R – Paper theaters. Handcrafted pop-up boxes
GRECI -O INTERIORS – 50R – Presenting a “Jungle” themed selection of home furnishing and interior design.
ANTONELLA BUSSANICH – 52R – Antonella Bussanich is a visual artist whose work comprises video, photography, installation, and performance. After many years spent mostly in France and also in the USA, she has returned to her home city of Florence. During the Open Doors event, she will present her new show titled “The Red Dancer”, an exhibition of videos and photos of a pizzica dancer. Limited edition photographs of various sizes printed on Fine Art paper or plexiglass, metal, and other materials will be on display.
CREATIVE PEOPLE IN FLORENCE – 58R Anna Rose, Sara Amrhein, Kirstie Matthieson, Jennifer Leo, and Flor Rubaja will be collaborating to create a special event that includes free workshops and demonstrations in ceramic, painting, lost wax jewelry making, tufting and punch needling, and polymer clay. In addition, there will also be a group exhibition featuring their most recent works.
NAA STUDIO – 59AR – workshop and shop creating contemporary jewelry with traditional techniques
FRAU LEMAN – 61R * closes at 20:00 – artisanal leather goods have been proudly made in Florence since 2019. You are in the right place if you are looking for timeless and sometimes quirky wallets, bags, and key chains made with Italian leather. During the Porte Aperte event, Stephanie will welcome you to the workshop and answer all leather-related questions. Some topics to chat about are how to spot good leather from fakes, where and how the leather is produced, and if your favorite bag is ready for a spa day.
QUOIO Leather Workshop – 69R Ciro Brandi is a designer-craftsman who inherited a long family tradition in leather working. With the QUOIO brand, he aims to carry the tradition into the future and pay homage to all those who have passed down their expert craftsmanship to him. Creating exclusive handcrafted leather goods made in the heart of Florence.
ASSOCIATION ENTRATE 79R and 58R – ENTRARTE is a cultural association, based in Oltrarno, Florence. Since 2010, they have organized events promoting art, culture, and educational activities for theatre and cinema. Over the years, the association has also hosted various artists for shows and residencies. During the Open Doors event, ENTRARTE will present the artwork “I NEED YOUR DNA” by Giulia Gray at its venue at 79R, which was realized during her recently concluded artistic residency. The association will also be present as Formazione ENTRARTE and Drama School DVAS at the 58R location, with an information point to showcase the 2024/2025 courses in cinema and theatre.
ANTICO SPLENDORE – 106R – Restoration of antique frames and furniture using traditional methods and techniques, including inlays and gold leafing.
NokiKe – 122R from 19:00 to 21:00 – Get a behind-the-scenes look at how a piece of handmade jewelry is made and try your hand at the historic Florentine lost was technique. Nokike Atelier opens her space and invites you to discover the tips, tricks, and secrets behind the production of her creations.
